Pseudagrion (A) coeruleipunctum Pinhey, 1964
Pretty Sprite
Type locality: Lutchigena River, 16mls E. of Caianda, Angola
Diagnosis
Male is similar to P. greeni and P. fisheri by (a) being restricted to Katanga, N Zambia, N Botswana and Angola; (b) thorax extensively black, usually with distinct (sometimes pruinose) antehumeral stripes; (c) seldom pruinose, at most (partly) on thorax and Abd base; (d) legs usually at least broadly marked with black; (e) tarsal claws with small hook or notch beside main hook; (f) lower and upper branches of cerci both extend somewhat, creating mouth-like gap between them; (g) inner border of cerci without basal tooth or toothed flange (dorsal view); (h) paraprocts very long, more than half as long as cerci, and/or upper branch of cerci longer than lower; (i) paraprocts pointed and up-turned. However, differs by (1) labrum black, rather than yellow to orange; (2) antehumeral stripe broader than half-width of mesepisternum, broadly interrupted, like exclamation mark; (3) dorsum S2 and S10 blue, S2 with black subapical patch rather than all being black.
