Gomphidia bredoi (Schouteden, 1934)

Diagnosis

Male differs from other Gomphidia species by (1) ranging in relatively open habitats from Uganda to western Africa; (2) cerci rather straight like fingers (dorsal view) and quite strongly curved up (lateral view); (3) epiproct about 1/3 as long as cerci, its branches long and curved, with teeth at apex (lateral view), cleft between branches narrow (dorsal view). Habitat description

Rivers in open landscapes and open areas in forest. Often with a soft (like muddy) bottom and probably coarse detritus. Inferred to occur from 100 to 1100 m above sea level.
