Type locality: Cameroon, no locality data available.

Diagnosis

No full diagnosis of this species is presently available. With S. gloriosa, the mature male is the only damselfly with (almost) completely dark wings occurring from eastern Nigeria to DRC and Angola, but the taxonomic separation from that species is unresolved.

Habitat description

Streams in open areas in forest, but sometimes shaded. Usually with coarse detritus and often with rocks, a gravelly and/or sandy bottom, and probably submerged roots. From 0 to 2100 m above sea level, but mostly below 1100.

Distribution

confirmed: Angola; Cameroon; Congo-Brazzaville; Democratic Republic of the Congo; Equatorial Guinea; Nigeria
